SH 45SE is being developed as a toll road. After completion of the roadway, TxDOT will assume operation and maintenance of the facility. The following information relating to toll collection and TxTag is provided by TxDOT.

Toll Rate:

The price of a toll will depend on the distance traveled and whether a money-saving toll tag is used. In 2009, the tolls, without a toll tag, will be approximately $0.12 to $0.17/mile.

Passenger Vehicles

The cost of passenger vehicles will be approximately $0.12 to $0.17/mile.

Trucks

The average costs of trucks (Two axles or more) will be approximately $0.48/ mile.

Electronic Toll Collection

SH 45SE will provide convenience and time savings to motorists by offering electronic toll collection. With the use of an electronic tag that is mounted to the inside of a windshield, a motorist can drive non-stop through designated toll lanes. A transponder mounted above the toll lanes will detect the electronic tag and deduct the toll amount from a pre-paid account. Toll rates will be discounted 10% for motorists using an electronic toll tag. You may open a TxTag account can at www.txtag.org or by calling the Customer Service Center at 1-888-GoTxTag.

For additional convenience to motorists, the electronic toll collection system will also be compatible with other toll road systems in Texas. A new technology, known as TxTagG, will allow motorists to use one electronic toll tag on any current or future toll road in the state. See more on TxTag.
