Welcome to State Highway 45 Southeast

45SE Interim Schematic (12.7 mb)

Central Texas is growing and with that comes a renewed commitment to the values that Central Texans prize. Keeping pace with the regional demands for transportation is a critical component for the quality of life we enjoy. SH 45SE is the result of a public need for safe and efficient highways.

The SH 45SE Turnpike will link I-35 at FM 1327, north of Buda, TX, to the junction of SH 130 and US 183 near Mustang Ridge. The 7.4 mile long facility will be constructed as a four-lane roadway with controlled access and a wide center median. As traffic warrants and funding is identified, the facility could be expanded to handle future transportation needs. Grade-separated interchanges at Interstate 35, North Turnersville Road, FM 1625, and State Highway 130/US 183 are included in the "Interim" construction. A future interchange is planned at Wright Road. On April 26, 2007, the Texas Transportation Commission approved a contract with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc./T.J. Lambrecht Construction, Inc. for construction of SH 45SE. Construction began in mid-July 2007 with work at the west end of the project around I-35. SH 45SE is expected to be complete by early 2009.
